Minnows, yes Minnows work for Trout. Berkely pink Trout dough bait, Corn, home made stuff...with or without a bobber but I think the bobber is best. I think the best Trout fishing is within a week of stocking after that they become harder to catch. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Also try Blanco State Park. They stocked it with trout several weeks ago. Use Corn or salmon eggs.

Zac, you can fish Huaco Springs on the Guadalupe for stocker trout. Huaco is right at the first crossing on River road. That is the non trophy zone so you can keep 5 per person. Berkley trout worms, cheese, spinners, and rebel crawdads all work well. If you get there early you can usually have a limit in an hour, plus you beat the crowd.

never used a bobber catching trout!!! i usually fish right off the bottom!! and i use either corn, trout power bait, or buttermilk biscuit dough!! sometimes you just gotta find what they want!!

As far as the bobber or not goes, I've seen it both ways. At one pond they liked the bait best when it was under a bobber about 4 foot down. Then the very next day at a different pond they liked it tight lined right off the bottom. If you aren't getting bit play with the depths until you find where they are eating at today.

No luck guys but had a great time saw a few being caught and talked to some very informative people. May try again in a week or two they are supposed to be releasing some more.
