Very nice! Joe Pool is my home lake too. Will be glad to get back out there in a week or so.

This is what it's all about.

Grainrasier, I did the same thing. I finally found the Britton launch. Noone around, got a little spooked, and left, went over to Loyd Park to launch. Is the Britton launch safe to leave you car and trailer?

I was there on a Saturday afternoon, not one car or trailer.

I've never used the Britton park ramp, but I've been back there in the boat. People that have been there don't always look to be on the up and up. Thats why I use the ramps at the state park.

This is what it's all about.

I have two boats. When pulling the Nitro I launch out of the Marina. When pulling my little Pelican Predator I use Britton since I use a 94 Nissan truck to pull it. I have never had any problems but them again I seldom fish it during the weekday.

I have not fished Joe Pool in years, with the good weather this week in the 70's i might just get out there a few days this week just to see if I can catch anything. when do you guys expect the Crappie to spawn this year? when was the spawn last year?

Anyone fished Joe Pool today?

I uncovered the old center console, fired off the suzuki, all systems go. I think I'll try to get up Walnut Creek tomorrow to see if the Crappie are biting. Does anyone have suggestions on Sandies. I have never had mush luck with the Sandies on Joe Pool.

Has anyone tried to get up Walnut Creek, it was pretty well blocked most of last summer.

Sup Gonz, how you been man? The water is still too cold out there for the sandies to turned up the bite yet. I'm gonna wait for about 2-3more weeks. If it wasn't for the snow it'd be perfect for a day like what we had today.

Hey Bobber, The last time I was at Britton was Sept 2010. It looked deserted, so I went over to Lynn Park to launch. I did not know it was locked this winter.

omg, so true. i wouldnt move into the city limits if i were u. the city crew is one of the most obnoxious and overzealous i have ever seen. they gave my neighbor (a former missionary to africa) a citation after some out of town family came to see him and they parked on the grass next to his driveway. no explanation, just a ticket.

some of the best times i have had on JP have been night fishing with minnows. there are several humps off the main point that you can anchor over, drop lights and catch as many as u want. pop open a cold one and just chillax.

ken1, first thing, welcome to the TFF!

yea, they close is every year til march, but i thought maybe they opened it early because of the incredible weather we've been having. no such luck though.

i went to loyd park and fished all through the timber. got a couple of bites, but didn't catch a thing. lost some of my favorite jigs frown.

there were some guys in a couple of boats that looked like they were catching a couple right about sunset. i'm not sure though, as i didn't want to get too close and crowd them. i think in 2-3 weeks time the bite will turn on!
