How is the bass fishing on fayette right now? I was thinking about going there next weekend but it is kind of far and would be my first time there. Is it worth the trip?

Try a chart/white spinnerbait with gold willow leaves and find some 55+ degree water in the back of wooded pockets. 3 to 6 foot seemed to be the right depth this weekend. Use braid to slow roll it and be ready to drag them out of the thickest stuff you can find.

I fished this past saturday and could not get bit to save my life. The absolute worst day I've had on the lake. The lake has been abnormally crowded as well.

Saturday was my first time on fayette. Me and my roomate (gigemaggie) on here got to the lake about 8 and was surprised at the boats that were already on the water. We probably counted 65 trailers while we were putting in. Went to the discharge where there were 25 boats stacked and fished for awhile with no bites. Ran around and picked up 3 fish by 2:30 and were about to head home when I decided to hit one more area we found on the map. It was a cove with a lot of timber that had a very defined creek channel running through. There were a bunch of boats flipping soft plastics so we decided to crank the trees and channel with a square bill. From 2:30-6 we caught 21 fish with a 5.2, 5.10, and several 3lbers. Best 5 were right under 20lbs. It turned from the worst day to one of the best fishing days I've ever had. Just gotta do somethin different when fishing is tough.
