bought thu unit for the bass tracker. i installed it on the left side of the motor, where the factory one came on it in 1996. all i got was a bunch of distortion. is there something i need to change or what i couldnt get it working. kinda pissed spent 700 and not working weel

Did you change the transducer and did you make sure the cables were tight.

all cables were tight and yes the transducer was changed all brand new. i had solid red and orange from top to bottom. when i went over 10mph, the thing would lose bottom and say i was50 to 90 foot of water wheni should have been in 20

Bring it to a marine store and have them install it and see if it still is messed up. That would really suck if it didnt work do you still have your reciept?

yeah io bought it yersterday at bass pro. i dont know what they charge but i would let em do it if theyknew what they were doing. is there a setting i should try to fix??

Does it work while you are going slow?

Alot of transducer will lose bottom when you are going over 10 MPH.

Especially if they are mounted near the motor. To much water turbulence in that area.

yeah its about 15 inches from motor. but even with my cheap units, i never lost bottom going 45 or so.

A friend had a problem similar to this took to dealer they found that the transducer was not tight and wobbling just a little bit.

wish that was it, but that sucker is beyond tight.

yeah i guess i am gonna take it back monday. mad because i was gonna get up and use it tommorrow. oh well gotta wait till saturday.

The down image will not paint a clear picture of the bottom at more than 5 or 6 mph.

As asked before, does it work OK at a slow idle speed??????

yes the down imaging looks fine. my problem is the 2d looks like i have no clarity.

what is the clutter at the very top of the unit that suts at the top, this is my first nice unit. my cheap ones never had this
