On the Catfish Calendar (speaking of Blues & Yellows):
ZIP for Sat/Sun (12th/13th (that means you will have to work for what you get)
But lookout after that ... YC (Blues also hit good) for Mon/Tues (14th/15th) BC (rack 'em up) for Wed/Thurs (16th/17th) BFT (anything goes, sort of a buffet) for Fri/Sat (18th/19th BC gain for Sun/Mon (20th/21st)
Time for a breather- ZIP for Tues (22nd)
Then -- BFT on Wed/Thurs (23rd/24th) ZIP on Fri (25th)
HOWEVER, the 23rd-25th overlap the YC pattern of a 3 day run, but I would target the 23rd/24th mainly.
Another side note on ZIP days. Sometimes huge ones are caught on these days. This means they probably ran rogue to the norm/roam patterns, which may be one reason they got that big. So never, ever give up. But expect it to be Tough on ZIP days.

My uncle & I plan to do just that for Memorial Day weekend. He was asking me to go down the calendar & see how the holidays fell this year. I said you really don't want to know. Then he asked what would my choice be.
I came up with the pre-MD weekend. Major biting from Saturday 14th thru Friday 27th of May. Looks like this, in case you want to trick the Cats (Blues mainly) like we plan on: BC--- Sat 14th/Sun 15th YC--- Mon 16th/Tues 17th BC--- BC heaven-->> Wed 18th thru Sun 22nd BFT-- Mon 23rd thru Wed 25th YC--- Thurs 26th/Fri 27th
then 6 days of ZIP.
REMEMBER NOW- this is for the month of May. So our plans are for Fri PM 20th thru Mon 23rd PM for our 3 day weekend.

Chad,
Never heard of Bluebird days term. I assume blue meaning cold.
++++++++++++ ++++++++++++ Bigblue or Gaspergoo,
Everybody here has the right to fish how they want to, as long as its legal (according to TPW & the Game Wardens). If you don't want to use the Catfish Calendar, that's fine. I respect that.
Some of those trying it out now, the more time involved into checking it out, are finding that there do seem to be patterns involved. The patterns will be realized more upfront if running set lines. It will take longer for those who R-n-R. If you notice the post a few back. Some really nice ones were caught by R-n-R, but he added they had to work for them. As they would bite for a bit, then stop, so they had to move to the next group.
Since Lga43 did not mention how many hours they were out, you can't get the full scope on their outstanding day. But at 19 Cats for 449 pounds is just over 23 1/2# average per fish. Not bad at all. Also there were 3 fishing, so that is 6 1/3 Cats each. I don't R-n-R so I can't say if that is a very good day as per numbers caught as to hours (as to fish biting). Of course the poundage was off the charts.
And the Catfish Calendar focuses on the roam/feed pattern of the normal fish (mainly Yellows & Blues) which covers an estimated (for a relative sense of comparison) 66 to 75%, leaving the rogue ones (that don't follow the norm) to do (or feed) as they see fit. Add a boat, scope, and dropping food in front of a Cat will definitely be a big plus. Add going with a Guide or a Seasoned Fisherman/woman that constantly fishes that lake & they also follow patterns that are consistent & use them. The Calendar is just another angle of the bigger picture of consistent patterns involved.
