OH MAN!! I busted some sandies a Joe Pool this morning. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. Was catching them on topwater and road runner jigs. Going again in the morning. I gotta get me some more of that. I hope ya'll get some that good action and satisfaction like I did. banana banana

I was at the Cedar Hill Stae Park , fishing from the wall that is around the bend from the first fishing pier.

Are you talking about by the intake across from the fishing barge?

thanks for the info, phr. I was hoping for some free
area where we can fish without having to pay such a
high fee. I find Joe Pool is very anti-bank fisherman :-(

went to joe pool today....in cedar hill state park....big mistake. It was packed because of easter. I got out there around 10:30 because I overslept. Fished at the first fishing barge, landed 1 LMB about 13 inches and let it go back home. Hit the bend and found an old dock and got two LMB about the same size. Wind was great but the water was crazy murky. Probably not gonna head that way again for a while because I don't want to pay $5 bucks just to fish when the park doesn't open until 8am. Reply with any different stories or reports about Joe Pool.

Yes LUCKYLURE, around and on down from the INTAKE. And I have a state park pass so I don't have to pay $5 a pop. I fish there a lot so it has paid for it's self 3 fold. OH, and I guess you already figured it out but it's extremely crowded on Holidays and the weekends. SO I DON'T GO THEN. And by the way $5 is cheaper that the other parks which cost $10..........And don't sleep-in cause there is usually someone at the gate by 7:00am.

how much is the pass? I caught a good number of sand bass this morning at the point of the bridges by the marina but on live shad that you have to net out there by 7:30am. After that time, their all gone. It was fun but I enjoy pulling them on the road runners better.

For one year pass is $60. That sounds high, but if you go fishing there as much as I do it's worth it. And you can get into any Texas State Park.

phr1969,
That's a good spot. I have fished it ever since the park opened. It has always produced good fish. I have a pass too, so it's free for me too!

It's the only way to go.........Been kinda slow since that day I caught all those sandies. But they just about everyday you can almost guarantee that the sandies will run by that area. Only problem is not at the same time everday. Some times in the morning, sometimes in the evening.
