21 degrees this morning at sunrise on Gibbons, lots of ice was forming on my rod/reel until about 8:00 this morning. It made it up to 60 by the time I had to leave at noon. Water temp was 47-49 degrees out on the main lake. I ended up with 3 fish, biggest about 3.5lbs.

Sniff, sniff? Dang, that skunk smell is coming off of me too! Yep, had a difficult time putting a largemouth in the boat today on Ivie, and saw no other boaters hoisting any as well. Water temps were 43-44 in Elm Creek and the main lake. I did get to run my new SI unit through it's paces and located what looked like a stack of good fish on a road bed in the main lake. Of course, they were in 50 ft of water so we went to spooning. My backseater hooked into one and his SAL dreams were shattered when the 4 lb blue cat, line-wrapped like a bacon-wrapped tenderloin, emerged from the depths. Hey, back at em' tomorrow!

It's that way at least 4 months out of the year up here in Washington. The fish head out to their deep haunts and hibernate. We've dropped the camera down on a school of about 30 smallies, then dropped a nightcrawler down there in front of them.....nothing....couldn't believe that not one would move for a big juicy worm! So most of the time we just go out and go through the motions to keep the rust off, and dream about spring....

Skunked on Winnsboro. Not a bite. Cold muddy water is no bueno. I'm going to fight through the tourney traffic on Monticello tomorrow and see if that helps things.

Started my tourney season off with a skunk. Had one dink bite and a 6lb hybrid. Haen't had but a handful of zero's in 20yrs of fishing tourneys but when it happens I take it hard. Sorry to see it happen to anyone but sure makes it feel better to know your not alone.

Skunked on Pines! Worst day I've had in a long time. Glad to see this thing was statewide. Everyone in our club tourny struggled. Rough!!!!
