When i was a kid(many, many years ago now) my family couldnt afford me very many lures. But i always had rooster tails and these to use on the guad river. Anyone still use these? Seems like they still have better action than the high dollar stuff out now. Thanks guys.

I use them at times. I think they're called little phishies. Spelling probably wrong. They work just fine on sand bass.

Lil Fishies were my most effective lures for whites in a creek last year. They produced better than Road Runners. Mepps spinners and Roostertails. I think the reason was that the jig head I was using enabled the Lil Fishie to get a little deeper than the other lures, where the fish were hanging out.

The Lil Fishie is still sold at most Walmarts. They are pre-rigged on a jighead. Usually with the crappie jigs. They work ok most of the time, but the tail gets torn up pretty quick. Sassy shad are way cheaper in the long run and have more color and size choices.

So how do you use/fish them? Like a jig or under a slip bobber?
