I have a quick question on jigs. Do you always use a huge jig? Because I know that bass pro shops has some mini jigs? And also do you also have to use a trailer or is it just an essential? Thanks for the comments!!

Jigs come in all sorts of sizes and styles, and they each have their respective application. An easy way to get started is to choose the jig by the line weight you have on your rod. If you're using a spinning or spincast set up with line less than 12lb, I recommend a finesse jig with a light wire hook. The light wire hook will penetrate the bass' mouth with less pressure.

If your line weight is 12lb or more, choose a flipping jig - they're versatile and effective.

You should always use a trailer with a jig. They add bulk and action to the bait. It's helpful to choose a jig that has a trailer keeper, that way you spend less time resetting your trailer.
