Has anyone tried repairing a motor guide lower unit on a TR 109. I have lost all low speeds. I pulled the front cap off and I've got moisture in there. Brush assembly looks bad,SE module has some rust on it. I was going to buy the parts and fix it myself. It doesn't look that complicated. Any thoughts?

How did you get the cap off? I've got a bad armature that will have to be replaced but I don't have an extra $250.00 burning a hole in my pocket.

I talked to G&S in Humble and they charge $50 plus parts. I think I will let them fix it. I've got enough stuff around the house to do and I need to get my stuff ready for the BFL at T-Bend. It's easy to take apart. Pull the prop off, and unscrew the bolts. Here's a diagram of mine.

Thanks.... Got mine straightened out. Took off the prop and loosened the two hex bolts a little bit and rotated the skeg to where it was straight and tightened them back just like new.

I have a complete digital lower unit to a 105 pound 36 volt motor if anyone wants one. It cost me 250 but I've had it sitting around for at least 4 years so if anyone wants it for 200 dollars PM me.
