You can check out www.khtackle.com, we offer jigs for pitching, grass and dragging. But-Hut special is my personal favorite color, but we make all different colors for you to pick from. We also make a big 1 oz spinnerbait with a size 7 willow that you might be interested in. Check our site out and let me know if we could help you in any way.

For just starting out, a flipping jig is a great all-around choice. Choose colors like you would your TX rig plastics; watermelons and green pumpkins are great for clear to stained water, black/blue and bluegill colors will work about anywhere, and Texas Craw also works about anywhere. Watermelons and Pumpkins can have all sorts of variations that make them versatile. Green Pumpkin Orange Bama Bug - green pumpkin with a purple accent Blue Tilapia is also a great bream imitation You can either match the jig to your trailer color, or use the jig to sort of accent the trailer color. The possibilities are endless, but I recommend sticking with colors you're comfortable and familiar with.

Give Mike Vasquez a call (All Star Tackle), 817 456 4339. He hand ties all his jigs and they are some of the best jigs I have ever used. He can do whatever you want, and any color you can think of.
If you are new to jigs, a finesse jig will build your confidence in them. You will get more bites, and also quality. I like natural colors.. green pumpkin, lonestar craw, watermelon red, ockechobe craw is also another color that is really good on just about every lake.
When fishing around rocks or on offshore structure, a football head jig is hard to beat. You can throw it basically anywhere you would a c-rig. Flipping jigs are awesome in timber, cover, boat houses, anywhere you would use a t-rig but you will get more quality bites. The swim jig is good when fishing shallow cover, lilly pads, laydowns, stickups, etc. Good luck!
