I recieved a packet in the mail yesterday from the North American Fishing Club. It says that i was nominated and if i send the form back, i will get three itwms to try out for free and I will recieve products to try for free as long as I fill out a survey. All this for $1 a month (To be billed later)

Has anyone else signed up for this? Is it a joke? Do they hit you up for more money when you get billed? I like free stuff but anything free is too good to be true. Right?

I had a customer tell me about it. Basically it is a gimmick to sell a thin monthly magazine full of advertisements. The items were just a couple very cheap promotional items from outdoor companies that were giving them out anyway. He said he wasn't cheated in any way, it was just very cheesy and all the products were bottom of the barrell quality they were advertising.

I am a current member, don't waste your time and money. It is only $12 per year. The only thing I ever received from them was the membership pkg. Magazine not that great. Never got anything to field test.

I joined the North American Hunting club for the free gift and chance to field test equipment and maybe keep it. They sent me fish hooks. hmmm

Why fish hooks from a hunting club.

I suppose if you join the fishing club they send you a spent 22 shell? eeks

Thanks guys. That is pretty much what I figured. About like filling out the raffle ticket when you go into the fishing or boat show.

Yep, they sent me a couple of books and then tried to get me to either buy them or send them back. Postal law says you do not have to send unsolicited items back, even if they pay shipping. One year of membership my wife signed me up for was enough.

I'd not do it again, tho their fishing show on cable is a pretty good one and does a neat series of knot tests with a lot more knots out there then I even knew existed, and I thought I knew them all.

Catching a fish is great. Riding there on your bike just makes it better.

I got the same thing but ended up with a few nice things. got some filet knives and ended getting a spinning reel and rod. magazine is nothing but adverisement and as a few said too much stuff on fishing up north. i think it was intended for people who fish for walleye and pike and bass fishing is kinda an afterthought. also got to field test some fishing line. overall don't waste your time. be a member of BASS and keep it at that.

I was a member many years ago. My suggestion is to RUN as far from that organization as possible! Ain't a good deal!
