I was pondering the same thing. If I invest in a canoe to accommodate the family and they don't like it, I'll be stuck with a canoe One more reason to buy used. You can sell it for what you have in it. If you buy new and don't like it, you will take a hit.

I have a Mad River 16ft canoe I would let go for $300. I like it but my fishing partner is not fishing anymore so I'm looking to sell it and get a yak. I love it. It's actually close to a big sit inside yak. Let me know if you're interested and I will send you some pics. PM sent

thanks everyone for your input. i think i have found the right canoe for the right price from a fellow TFF member. wife still wants to go out on the water with me so, a canoe it is, until she changes her mind again....hahaha
