I have owned one, a 2001 911. Sold it after many, many problems with it and Bass pro Shops. I will always be able to say that I have owned one,and only one. Sorry about your troubles. Good luck.

And the bad part is, posts like these only hurt the resale value even more. If they do fix it and Matt decides he wants to sell it, he will have a hard time getting rid of it. Bad deal from top to bottom

Don't forget Tracker also makes ProCraft now. The hull problems go back a long time for Tracker. When they first came out with the 898 series, they were bad for gell coat flaking. That's when Tracker bought out ProCraft to use their hull design.

You want to bring this to someone's attention, try this :

She's the director of marketing for Tracker. Have her read this thread and let her know how this is going to hit them where it hurts.....in the wallet.

I had a tracker fiberglass boat 18' with a 150 back in 89 was fishing a 2 day tournament and on the second day on my way to weigh in the boat started going side to side crazy like could hardly control it. I just did make it to the ramp the transom on the left side of the boat had completly seperarted from the rest of the boat a good 3 inch gap all the way from the top of the transom to tht bottum of the hull. I can't believe the motor did not come off.

Are you 100% certain that you didn't receive any injuries when you had the sudden deceleration? No twinges in the lower back or neck areas? Sometimes these things take a couple of days before they become obvious. Just sayin..............

Man I hate to hear about these situations! I had a problem with a used boat I bought a couple years ago, a few days after taking ownership we discovered a crack in the hull. I took it to the manufacturer (Pro Gator) and the owner of the company didn't hesitate to fix it free of charge and they also cleaned that boat up like it was new! The boat was a 1995 model!!!!! I'm sorry but if a small company like Pro Gator can fix a problem like I had on a 15 year old boat because they have a "lifetime warranty" then a HUGE company like Tracker shouldn't have hesitated to fix your problem.

The thing that makes me mad about companies and their "warranties" is the fact the item purchased should be warrantied for the entire time of the warranty, regardless of who the owner is at the time a warranty claim is issued!

I agree with others, I wouldn't sleep until I had exhausted every opportunity to share your story accross the internet and in public! Just think how differently this post would be for Tracker if they would have just fixed the boat like they should.

I was considering a 2011 Z8/250XS. Not any more. Good luck. The lawyer angle sounds like the way to go to me also.

Exactly right!! Any business owner with sense would fix it out of warranty, on the spot. The Gator story is what this story should be about. How little would it take to make this guy right??

Gator and other good boat companies get it, why tracker and nitro don't I have no idea. How hard would it have been for the dealer to fudge a bit on the paperwork if any to make this happen???

I think going the Lawyer route you are banking on Tracker doing the math and deciding it would be cheaper for them to settle with you than going to court. Because if this goes to court it will be hard for you to prove that the issue was a manufactures defect or that one of the 3 owners of this boat didn't hit something to cause the problem. Even reading these posts there are fiberglass guys that say this will happen if you hit something hard enough. I would contact Tracker corporate directly if you haven't tried already and not go through the local dealers. The dealers work with the warranty unit of Tracker, they are going to tell you exactly what you are hearing, it is out of warranty. There are stories in here about BassCat doing this as well to a lesser extent. BassCat has the best rep of any boat dealer out their for covering stuff like this.

I do feel for your situation. Sounds like it was very unfortunate timing for you and great timing for the guy that sold you the boat. Hoping it all works out for you in the end.

I am a Nitro Owner and would stand behind you 100%. I have had good experience with mine, but he customer service issue you have makes me rethink if I would want another one.

I would take it to New Orleans and park in a PUBLIC location, put a sign in the boat, and see what happens. Better yet, go to the expo with a t-shirt and a photo of the boat, with "ASK ME WHAT HAPPENED" printed on it.

Do you know any other Nitro / BPS pros or how to contact them. I would send a very nice and respectful letter with photos to all of them.

I work in a business that is contract driven, and where the contract is the law. But things happen all the time that may be outside of the contract and we have to make a business decision.

If this where wear and tear or abuse, I would get it, but this is a sudden thing with no warning. Get different fiberglass companies to look at it and give there honest opinion as to the what caused it. Old impact, hidden by the bunks? Manufacturers defect? Both? Their input will direct your actions.

It doesnt sound like you need the help, you are all over it, but if you do, or want a good attorney referral, send me a PM.

Most boat companies will try to screw you on manufacturer defects. Ask around and you will find out. You wont see it on here because anyone who has ever sicked a lawyer on the manufacturer has a "hush" clause when they accept the money or repairs.
