I went out to the spillway on Joe Pool today and got blanked. One guy did catch a few sandies but they weren't interested in anything I threw.
Anyways just as I was getting ready to leave the game warden showed up and started asking for licenses. There was only 7 people out there and he wrote 2 or 3 tickets.

That's only the second time I've ever been aproached by one. The first time I was actually out with a guide.

In almost 13 years of fishing I have never been check yet. I have seen wardens and said hello to them, but the have never asked. I figure the first time I try to fish with out a license I will get a ticket. So every year I go and pay my dues

I was checked twice this yr. Once in Fort Worth fishing for trout(I got a warning ticket for not filling out the hunters log on the back of my license for shooting a deer-could have been $200 fine--ouch) and once last week at Rocky Creek Benbrook

I've been checked 3 times within the last year. Always have had my license. The same GW comes around and checks at Tawakoni he kind of knows my face now and let's me continue fishing when he comes around.

Here in Lubbock I've been getting checked constantly for the past couple of years, about every third time I go out ... it seems like they are really aggressive about it here. Which is like adding insult to injury, you get lousy fishing but still are expected to constantly show that you have paid your dues to access the lousy fishing! The first time I got checked was two years ago out at Buffalo Springs, and my dad was with me and said it was the first time he had been asked for his license in 20 years.
