Every Academy has to put that reel on clearence. I worked at an Academy and corporate makes every store put all the same items on clearence.If your store has the original price you just have to mention it and they will change it. Also Academy does price match for other stores, if you have an ad. I bought the pinnacle for $29.99 in Arlington, my buddy got it in waco for $29.99 and my dad got it at an academy in Grapevine (or one not to far from BPS) for 29.99. Good real for the price, always could use it as a backup!

I saw the carrot stick rods on sale for half price at the one in burleson. 200 dollar rods on sale for a 100 bucks.

Academy off of Hulen had this deal on the reel. Picked up 2. Great reels for even $80 so for $30 it was an easy deal.

The Longview Academy sucks. I hate it. No fishing Line. No Drop shots. Quit carrying the shaky head I use, Never have the color I am looking for. I guess this is why internet sales have sky rocketed.

Academy in Longview does suck. Always out of everything. BUT, they have plenty of the Pinnacle reels first discussed here. They are not on display but they have them behind the counter for $29.99!

Man I really hate that Academy does not have an online store. I would absolutely love to pick a few of these up. Need to get my son a reel or two of his own but not an Academy within an hour of Lake Fork  I have been told by a guy I know who works for Academy corporate that they plan on having an online store up and running in the next few months.
