A long time ago==years ago, there was a stump in the mouth of =front of Birch creek...I think it had a big orange life jacket on it for a long time. I just wondered if this stump is out of the water with the lake being so low? I cannot remember if it was in the middle or right or left side going into Birch. Would someone please refresh my memory? Thanks.

There is one I know of that is just to the right of the second boat lane marker, it is huge but I haven't seen it this year. I always stay to the left of the markers going into Birch.

When it gets low enough it is there just inside the mouth. I remember it from when it was a great big tree years ago.

Yep that's the one. I worry about it too but I haven't seen it with the low water. It's got to be there unless someone cut it down the last time the lake was down.

How close to the marker are we talking? I always thought that right around the bouys was safe. Do I have to basically almost tag the bouys as I go by to be safe?

Great, another worry for my second trip to fork. I worried enough last year about hitting stumps, it's a long idle sometimes from the boat lanes.

Hey triton225, take some pictures so your insurance man knows what kind of hazzards are down at fork. My guy thought I was being reckless until I explained how different it is from up here, still not sure he believes me.

We need one of those boys that have the "side looking" thing to tell us exact where it is~~ that would help a lot !!

Thanks for the info! I had no idea. How about some GPS coordinates for the stump or at least the 2nd buoy.

It made one heck of a floater when it broke off at the waters surface.
