If you have some information on Lake Limestone I would be very interested in hearing it. Not what someone else has told you, but what you know yourself. We are going to be fishing a tournament their in September 2011. I have had some very good days fishing Limestone in the past but would like to here what's going on there now.

Water is always statined, there is lots of structure. Bass fishing is tough.

I was reading on the TPWD site about the lake and was excited to see it had so much vegetation but then read a post on here that it was all but gone. Is that true?

I have a place on the lake and I can tell you that the water is way down right now and the grass is like a T-rex...extinct! Good luck finding some.
I am a big time bass fisherman and have lost hope on this lake. TPWD has not stocked the lake in decades and says they do not plan to anytime soon. It seems to me they are not supporting this lake at all. The bass fishing has gone way downhill in the past 6 years due to no vegetation. Only thing I can recommend is fishing the south end of the lake. Fish the timber near the creek channels and you can usually pick up a few.
I would start praying now until September that the fishing makes a 180!

I love limestone. I catch fish most times out. Find docks with brush and you will catch fish. Now is a good time to scout with the water being low. Mark docks with brush now and if the lake catches water before the tournament you will already know where it is. That pattern will give you 10-12 pounds. It's possible to catch a kicker doing that which could bump you to 14-16. That will put you on the borderline of a check depending on the size of the tournament. The tournament will probably be won on offshore brush. Don't be afraid to look at docks in creeks just south of the bridge.

I love it too it's a great lake it always possible to catch 14-16 lbs limit not sayin I can or u can always but there are people who can consistently do it. And in sept if it's warm still and the right people fish it 14-16 might not be a weight that gets you a check it might take 20 something lbs to win maybe more. Now if conditions are bad 14-16 will get u a check and maybe win. But I've always caught fish. Offshore timber and trees and boat docks are gonna be ur best cover. A good place to try for both of those is running branch creek. And watever u do do NOT run on plane in there I know people who fish the lake all the time and don't run in there. Good luck
If you cant catch em flipin you shouldnt be fishin

Is the whole lake stumpy? Will a decent map show where the timber is?
