I'm about to purchase two Hb 898c si. Can you use Ethernet cable to connect the two and use the transducer on trolling motor for bow and transducer on transom for console . Is this the correct or optimal setup. Any help/ ideas would be greatly appreciated. Is side imaging possible from the trolling motor?

Thanks for the Ethernet info. It's kind of hard to sort through all the data and know if you are getting what you need. Hope any info helps you as well.

i will say what i know of it and if you want more info the other guys will be able to help you out. you can use the transducer on the trolling motor for the bow unit and the transom for the console unit. Now with the ethernet you can also look at the trolling motor information on the console as well and vice versa.

if what you are wanting is Side imaging at the bow and conole and want to be able to share GPS, WP, and sonar than this is the optimum set up, also you will need two mapping cards as they dont share map information
