I was on another board that I like to visit and the subject was brought up about how much fishing has changed over the last 10 years. I agree, it's changed and it's too the point that anyone with enough $$$ can own a 85 mph (or faster) bassboat.
I've always heard we go full circle with fishing within our lifetime. Maybe that's what is happening to me, but let me tell you about my day fishing.
I went scouting for an upcoming camping trip I'm hosting for some friends. I was the only person on the entire lake and had the entire 75 acres to myself. I saw two people at the public beach area playing with their dog and two ladies walking around the hiking trail of the lake with their dog. Other than those 4 people, I didn't see a soul!
One of the best fishing trips I've had in a long time! The scenary was absolutely beautiful and it was the first time I've ever been on this little lake.
Yep....Each time I take my tube out and go fishing, I wonder if I'll bother to buy a boat once I'm again able....who knows, but if I do, I know it won't offer the simplicity and pure unadultered FUN that my float tube does!

RGilligan...
Yep! I made it out there Sunday. I had planned to drive up with a friend of mine to scout it out for an upcoming camping trip. When she couldn't make it, I decided to take the tube and make it a fishing/scouting trip!
That photo of the 14 lb. fish in the main office sure got my attention! They said the Ranger went down to take the photo, and when he saw how big it was went back to get the scales. By the time he got back to the dam, the two guys had already gutted it! They said it would have been a Share-A-Lunker for sure! From the photo, I have no doubt it was a 14 lb. fish!
Great lake...thanks for the tip! I'll be back there for sure!
