I have never really fished for crappie and wanted to know...
What is your GO-TO Rig? Also where should I start my hunt for crappie? I have a boat but its docked out at lake cypress springs and I dont get out there alot. I fish Grapevine and Lewisville lake the most from the bank. Thanks for the help!

Hey Johnny, I'm not saying this cause I know Chuck, but you should take a trip with him & his team. They can & will teach you a lot about crappie fishing.

Look around on youtube. There are numerous videos on how to catch them from the bank/boat depending on the time of year. Spring will be here soon and you should have no problem catching them from the bank then. As for rigs, I prefer jigs that have some Chartruese in them.

That may be true,BUT!,I have put a bunch of crappie in the boat on the vine using minnows.
The last year or so I have been using more jigs, but have probably caught more fish on a chaurtruse roadrunner than any other bait, when the bite is real slow I still go back to the tried and true roadrunner (tipped with a minnow).

Don't minnows cost more than jigs when you factor in the number of fish caught by each?

Hey, if your boat is on Cypress Springs, then look no further. That lake has some excellent crappie. Fish the bridge for now but also try the creek. For the bridge, I would try pink and white tube jigs at 30 feet of water and work my way up until you strike fish. It's worth the trip just to see some pine trees!
