I know from first hand experience that the baby shads work for crappie. My cousin swears by them for spring fishing. Would they work beginning next weekend? Also for someone who has never used them or any swim bait how do you work them? Any recs on size of bait and hook combos and colors for this time of year? Thanks in advance.

With the spawn right around the corner, many of your fish will start making their moves shallow on this next full moon thru the March full moon.
The way I love to use the LFT Live Magic Shad right now into March is to take a 3 1/2 in. Magic Shad in Sun Perch color, and run it on the back of a 3/8 oz. Pheonix Vibrating jig in Sun Perch or a Red Chatterbait.
Work it very similar to a spinnerbait. Around timber, grass, docks, etc. make long cast and retrieve the bait as slow as you can without it contacting grass or the bottom. also, if you can make it bounce off timber on your retrieves, you can get a few reaction bites with this method.
