I saw an article in the Chronicle, officials are concerned that there might have been some die offs. They have found several dead speckled trout, but were uncertain of the numbers. Officials were gonna start today to try and determine how serious it was. One species hit hard by the freeze, was hard head catfish. I'm sure hard head catfish have their place in the ecosystem and all, but I say good riddance.

last week all i saw dead in the aransas pass area was hard heads. it surprised me that you can't kill them in the heat out of water and a little cold and they are alll lined up on the shore dead.
REDNECK, and proud of it.

LOL, I remember the first time I surf fished. I thought I must be the greatest fisherman in the gulf cause I couldnt keep those hard heads off my line. It got old pretty fast though. I think we could benefit from a major die off of those damn things. Seems like some days you just cant keep them off your lines. Its especially frustrating when you wade out, make a great cast, and by the time you set the pole in the pole holder a damn hard head is stuck on your line.
