but there was a complaint in the crappie section, where a guy and his friend both bought one and both had bad reveiws. even returned to bps. ive asked Jason via pm,for additional sites that have actual reviews of this unit. I want one bad, but im shelling out the money if they are crappy. i like the trackback features it offers. so if someone else has good pics, please let me know or a website with current reviews. just wanted to let u know about the reveiew in crappie section. doc

IMO if you get a DSI unit..You should get the Elite 5x DSI or Elite 5 DSI. The 5x DSI is not as good as the Elite 5 DSI, because the 5x DSI is grey scale. Color screen is always better then grey scale screens on any brand.

I am to trying to decide between the bird and this unit, now we can't really compare picture quality yet, but the bird seems so much more adjustable with total control over individual sensitivity of beams and about 20 other things, I went online and viewed the owners manual for the elite and it is about 4 pages while the bird seems like 200 hundred that was very disappointing for the elite. I am waiting to see more pics from both but i gotta tell ya the lowrance has taken a step back in my view

thnx Chris maybe I am expecting to much but I don't know how you can say the top pic is boulders without sticking a camera down there it is just not that refined On pic 2 with the fish , is that fish that are schooled up in a clump like that? would they be schooled up on the bottom? on the weeds , is that hydrilla ? that water must have been clear for the weeds to be 8-9 ft. tall. I thought the clarity would be close to the lss resolution but It looks like it is a good cut below to me.Thnx for posting

thx DSI mode. Elite 5 DSI doesn't do 2d sonar just Down Scan.
