can anyone tell me the difference between them? ive read a lot about CCG, a little about Tuffleye and just heard about Bug Bond yesterday. one thing i did read was to be careful when using CCG in natural light, as the UV rays will cause it to set prematurely and Tuffleye does not have this problem. thanks for the help.

Do you tie alot outdoors? I would have to say CCG would be the way to go just because it is a Texas made product.

It's more than the catfish would do.

I like Bug Bond. I was going to try CCG, but the owner told me the light for BB did not work for CCG. I did not want to buy another light, just to try CCG. At the time I started using BB, CCG had a sticky residue. I wanted BB then because I did not want to apply something over a cured product, making another step. Now I guess there is virtually no difference. CCG came out with a non sticky formula. Look at what is in the ingredients, look at the price, and make your own mind up. I like BB because the owner is super nice, and he goes out of his way to please his customers. I bought it from him in England. Now you can get it in the states. Be sure to wear sunglasses no matter which one you use.

They all cure in natural light. The sun contains the full range of the UV spectrum and each product has a specific UV range that it will cure in, hince, the sun cures them all.

Tuffleye remains sticky after curing and the light is expensive. BugBond has some nasty stuff in it. The chemical make up is toxic to humans and fish (it's on the label).

CCG has the widest range of products. Thin, thick, flexible, non-tack, brushable. The lights are inexpensive. The owner is in Southlake and handles everything himself. Many east coast stiper guides and tier's are switching to the CCG. The list of famous tiers using CCG is impressive.

I've being using CCG since it was sold word of mouth and not really comercially available. I started with Tuffleye and was almost turned off by UV finishes until I tried CCG.

Since this board appreciates home grown companies (just search TFO on here); CCG looks like the winner.

do yall prefer the brushable or the syringe and why?

i thought id prefer non tack stuff so i dont have to go back and coat it with sallys. however, i read somewhere that the tack stuff enables you to add multiple layers of goo to build up shrimp bodies and stuff. the tackiness lets a previously cured layer bond to a new layer ontop of it. can you not bond cured and uncured non tack goo?

Go with the tacky stuff 1st so you can build up your heads while you practice with the new material. I've got just about everything they sell and it is all nice. Thick or thin you cant go wrong.. I like the thick stuff more for most applications.

Here are a few things i've done
