I've got some StrikeKing hard swimbaits that I think will work good, but they are built to run about 2-3' deep. I'm thinking that by slipping a worm weight on the line before tieing on the bait I can turn this bait into a more versatile bait. Has this been tried?

yes it has but I've heard the lighter the weight the better. Too much weight will throw off the action.

Storm Suspend Strips or Suspend Dots. Add as many as needed.
