Is there a way to fish or acess the creek that runs out of Grapevine?
You can see it running through the golf course and you can pass over it on Grapevine Mills.

That would be Denton Creek. Eventually it runs into the Elm Fork.

I have heard there is a way to fish it somewhere under the GV spillway, and near that golf course. But I don't know how legal it is.

I have fished it a couple times right under 2499, near GVMills. I parked in the visitor area of that Apartment complex, outside their gates. Not sure if it's technically allowed, but didn't have any problems with it the times I fished there before.

That's what I was thinking about doing. Wish there was a place to throw a small boat in.

I've been wanting to try the spot off 121 James is talkin' about.
As far as fishin' the spillway, I've heard it's been outlawed for a few years. I've fished the overflow pond, which is deep, but don't know if it's legal or not.

ALLANGT, Years ago when I was up in the area with a friend from ft worth, we launched a canoe and kayak beneath the dam and went all the way to 121 fishing the whole way. There are some good fish in there, including some LMB up to 5 lbs, and lots of cats and perch. This creek is very hard to navigate due to the tremendous amounts of laydowns, but we did not see anyone fishing until we made it to 121, and just like James Hughes said there are some small boats tied upin the creek the closer you get to 121. There are some deep holes that we found by dropping the anchor and then measuring the rope on the way up. P.S. watch out for the cotton mouths, as I remmember seeing several in the creek.
