My Father in Law retired Firefighter James Michael Rainey passed away Jan 29th at age 66. He was a Firefighter for the City of Dallas and Coppell for 32 years. Funeral to be Feb 5th at 10 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Denton Texas. James was more than my Father in Law. Early in my career and long before I dated my wife of now 18 years, I spent many a morning drinking coffee with James. Listening to his fire department stories and advice. He was my friend, my mentor, and a firefighter brother long before I married his daughter. He loved and cared for his family so much. I will miss him more than anyone could ever know. I thought this was a great picture and wanted to share it.

Very poignant. And revealing, because it shows what every person in any branch of service does...they give of themelves to the benefit of others.

It is obvious that Mr. Rainey was a good, good man..or you would feel not so deeply his passing.

My condolences to you and especially your wife, for the loss and your sorrow.

And many thanks to Mr. Rainey for his service to his community.

Gary

very sorry for your loss

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

wow.. what a great pic, and really shows the intensity of the event. I worked with an old guy that was a retired FF of 30+ years and heard similar stories.

Sorry for you loss, but those memories are great.
