My buddy fished Oak Point thursday for 15 minutes before loosing his rod. First when entering the addition you must buy a fishing permit at the city building, cost $2 OR $18 PER YEAR. tHE COVE BY THE BOAT RAMP IS REAL GOOD FOR CRAPPIE IN THE SPRING. Now the catfish are bitting on the rocks by the boat ramp. Thursday he baited with shrimp, placed his one rod in a rod holder got his chair ready sit down just in time to see the rod take off like a rocket. Since he only took one rod he stared in amazement for about 2 minutes, loaded up his chair and drove home. Out 2 bucks.

Hi Nat, too bad your friend lost his pole. Guess that is proof there is at least one good sized fish in the north part of Lake Dallas. I have had good luck with sandies and catfish there. The crappie I catch are by accident off of live shad, spinners, or crankbaits. Maybe I need to try a little harder this year to catch crappie. Regarding parking, I notice that the O.P. police run my plates and verify my sticker (a good thing) seemingly every time I am out there so I make sure I pay the yearly ramp fee as well as my home owner dues.
