tested to see how it fit. NICE & VERY tight!

1st of 3 cleanings with 91% alcohol

drilled some larger holes for the panhead stainless bolts.

clear 35yr 100% silicone was less than $4 @ the HOMES DEPOT

clear silicone goes on white then cures to clear
put some under each panhead insure all is watertight

cleaned the rim w/ my wet finger and damp towel
then displayed the FatBag!

dropped and pressed down the FatBag

went pretty smooth

turned out like i wanted
lots a room for keys, wallet, camera, & other junk

That's a damn fine peice of work! I'm ashamed to say, I do'nt recall if my Scrambler has the blank for one of those, it's been awhile. Sure looks handy.

My WS 135 Ride has the super small dry well right there, its maybe 3" wide and about 6" deep. Havnt used it yet but I suppose it would be good for the cell phone and camera, but thats about all that would fit

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

do you guys think that is possible to do in a kayak that has no dedicated spot for it? Say i found a good flat spot and wanted to install something like that? or does it have to be specifically made for your yak? I would like to install storage like that right behind y seat of my FS12T. Not quite flat but close. Do they sell the storage hatches and bags, I am assuming yes, but no luck finding them on the net so far.

Absolutely, Steve. Use a six inch or bigger PVC drain with a screw on cover. Epoxy a plasic jar (big peanut butter jar for example) to the lid of the drain. Install the drain on your kayak. Here is a video with the drain already installed so they are just showing the dry storage install.

Thanks, I think I can do that, I hate seeing wasted spaces and I could use some extra storage. Sounds fairly inexpensive to do that as well using a drain.

I've fished out of a yak for trout a few times while on vacation in the past. Loved it. Just regular ole rental boats. We currently have one sit-in and one sot entry level terrible tracking type kayaks. Pelicans. Never been out in the sot. Thinking of dragging them up to a creek or two this spring.
