There really are a few places to bank fish on Fork. I recently caught a 6.5lb bass right off the side of a road. Every bridge that cross's water is a potential spot. Some will require a long walk but the lake being as low as it is makes thing easier as well as scenic. Most marina's and bait houses that are on the water will let you park and fish for around $2. Go up to Coffee Creek Marina, launch fee of $3 and bank fish or fish from pier for $2. Across 515 bridge from the public boat ramp there is an area to the left to park, I stopped there last time I was out. Didn't catch anything but seemed to be a hot area for the fisherman in boats. Didn't see them pull anything up but they were comming and going for the hour I was there. Looking to make a return trip this week for another shot at it. You have to get out there early and keep moving all day only stopping long enough to wolf something down. Persistence counts, from a boat or the bank. Some fish have already moved up the creeks, but I wouldn't expect a 15lb'r from the bank. My thought is they have learned over the years and will be spawning in deeper water than whats reachable by bank and out of sight from those people sight fishing beds. One more thing, replace that 10lb test line with at least 14 or more for dragging them out of the stump fields.

If you are referring to bass fishing I agree with the marina idea. Pay a couple of bucks and fish the piers especially at night. Lot of brush and some fish, sometimes big fish. Also, I believe it was Troy Coates who caught the 17 pound bass at Fork bank fishing (top ten Texas bass).

last time i stayed at oak ridge marina(last memorial day) i notice they have more bank area than any other place i have stayed out there. with that said i couldn't tell you how much of that is affected by the lake being low. i think cameron posted that it was 4 feet low the other day.

Anybody know where one could launch a kayak up in Birch? I know the whole east side of Birch is closed off -- private lands. Even the roads marked as "county roads" on the maps have been converted to private driveways and private roads. Weird. Now I'm looking at the west side of Birch.

Was there yesterday. Park beside the 514 bridge well off the shoulder and your within 100 feet or so of the water. You could also put in at Rainswood Marina on 2646 and go around the bend. The fish were not up in the creeks yet. Saw only a couple small ones taken while I was there. I think they are stackin up at the mouths of the creeks in 10 to 20 feet of water. Water temp was still mid 50's and water is stained up in the creeks from the recent runoff. No one has bothered me yet for parking off the road. There is very little road traffic up that way. Anyways, good luck and gitRdone.
