Have a tournament soon on Lake Belton, wondering when Smallmouths spawn out there, and on any of the Lakes that do have them in Texas. Wolud really appreciate it

With or just before Large Mouth. I have caught a Large Mouth, spotted bass and Small mouth all of the bed in the same day on the same stretch of bank.

A rule of thumb I use is, between the Sandies and the Largemouth.

From my experience Smallmouth start beddin in 55-60 dregree water, they like a sandy, rocky bottom and usually in 3-8 feet of water. Usually if there is one bed, there will be several together, when on the beds Smallies are very aggressive and will hit just about anything in the bed or even near it. I have had tme come out of 15 feet on beds chasing a tube.

I caught this one bed fishing. She and many more were gaurding fry near the end of April. They were caught at Texoma in 7'-8' of water. this day was one of my best fishing days ever. Smallies on the bed are easy pickens. They would hit anything they could fit in their mouths. Finding the bed is the hard part. That was the day of a Stren tournament, we were the only ones fishing for theses fish. My guess is those fish started at the end of March, water temps then were in the low 60's an that day
Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim
