What length of leader do you all use for different conditions (seasonal)? Floro or mono? Like to rig, something I'm looking to get better at. Thanks

The length of the leader really has to do with the mood of the fish. Not trying to be a smart alek, but some days, I will throw a 5 ft mono leader. Some days, can't get bit on anything longer than 18 in. That's how it was at Bastrop this weekend, shorter was better.
I have 30 lb braid main line and 16lb mono for leader. Start out longer and cut it down to change things up.

I seem to find that shorter leaders work better in around grass and shallow water, longer leader seems to work best out deep. I throw 100% fluorocarbon. Same pound test for main line and leader.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Some people say not to use flouro for the leader because it sinks. I'm not one to give advice, but I am curious if there is any truth to that...

Ive always varied the leader length depending on the depth of the water. I dont like throwing a 5 foot leader in 5 foot of water, and a 3 foot leader in 30 foot of water.
Just feel it out, and let the fish tell you what they like...
I usually have good luck with a 3-4 leader as a starting point
