Are there any draw backs to micro guides?

Using braid with a long leader tied to it. The knot would not fit through the guides.

Can't find any negatives with mine but I can see how a knot would have a hard time passing thu them.

+100

I have a couple of micro guide rods and this is the biggest drawback for me.

Line seems to get twisted around the guides easier, I don't see the big deal with micro guides, I have one rod that has em and I don't see a difference from the others but thats just my opinion

I have a couple Falcon Cara Amistads with micros and I like them.. I'm not going to sell all my rods and switch exclusively to microguides in a week or anything but I like them.. just like any other rod it cold weather, you have to dip it in the water every once in a while but.. that's just like any other rod. I didn't like the sound of the knot going through the guides when I tried that, but it didn't seem to effect me too much.. but then again I was throwing a big jig, some lighter rigs could cause a problem I suppose. I like to pitch with them, everything seems very smooth.. I also like them in the wind.
