I like a cinch knot. Wrap it 5 times and it will cinch up better. Anymore than that and it doesn't want to slide down and seat

The only time I use anything that heavy is on the leaders and I Snell the hook and use a loop knot to attach to swivel.

I wouldn't use such heavy leader with a treble hook. 10 to 12# with improved cinch knot.

Don't snell a treble hook. I'd go with an improved clinch knot on the treble hooks. Snell works great on khales, octopus and circle hooks.

I use palomar knots on the leader to swivel with as heavy as 80# mono. I dont have a problem getiing palomars to seat up right with 50 to 80# mono. The bigger lines are harder to get the knots to seat up, but if you pull them up right it is not a problem. I have yet to have a properly tied palomar knot fail, with braid or mono, so that is why I use it for everything besides the hook.

shoot......I use a palomar knot to tie my anchors with, use it for everything.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you are a mile away, AND you have their shoes.

I have tied upto 80 lb by snelling the hook

http://www.animatedknots.com/snell/index...imatedknots.com

and a
http://www.animatedknots.com/uniknot/ind...imatedknots.com

for the swivel
for drifting so big cats wont wear the leader thru while playing them down with 15lb mono line but when you hang up it's by by rig
I don't like the "spectra stuff" for drifting

The snell works well for the spectra or dacron lines as well but i add a drop of super glue to the knots especailly with a drop eye gamagutzu octopus circle hook

I used to use a cinch knot, lost several large fish. I now use a palomar on everything, have not had it come loose yet.
