Can any body tell me about access spots for fishing the Trinity in Mid cities or Dallas area? No secret holes just places where there is public access and it's ok to park etc. I know that it's not the prettiest place to go and there are pollution problems but I thought there might be places to go and just fish for fun.

I fish ALL OVER the DFW Trinity. The best advice is this, get a map of the DFW area, look for sections close to home and give them a visit. There are so many holes, creeks, inlets, etc, to fish in the Trinity it's mind boggling. One minute you're in 1ft of debris ridden water, the next you're in an clear open cove filled with fish. The DFW Trinity can be a real gem. ------------------ Wanna catch something bigger? Rough Fish Anglers Group

Also, check the creeks/rivers that flow under most of the highway bridges. Sometimes you'll find a great unpressured spot loaded with fish. ------------------ Click Here! [This message has been edited by dmunsie (edited 12-11-2003).]

There is a pretty decent spot off of 820 on the east side, between Trinity Blvd and Randol Mill.

Chrysops, I have never fished the Trinity, so I can tell you nothing about it, but one day I stumbled onto a park just west of downtown Dallas where Sylvan crosses the river. It has parking and a boat ramp. The ramp was blocked off when I was there, but the water was very low then. Look here: http://tinyurl.com/z7x2 This must be an old satellite photo, cause it doesn't show the ramp or ramp parking, but I promise it was there in September. ------------------ ----------------~ 0')}}}>< [This message has been edited by Ornery (edited 12-14-2003).]

there is a nice place over by the Lockheed Employee Rec area. The FWFF dropped a bunch of coppernose brim in there below the bridge and above the bridge is a nice long stretch of river suitable for kayaking. The cross street is Bryant-Irvin just north of loop 820. The river runs back to Benbrook on one branch, the Clear Fork (when you say "Trinity" there are several forks). http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/benbrook/main.htm ------------------ RRhyne56, Flyfishing Warden rrhyne56@comcast.net Robins Custom Flies and Leaders
