One of these is a TNT Magnum Magnet, the other two are live shad, hooked hooked during a normal retrieve. This happened over & over again.

Birds working non-stop till about 5:45, and huge clouds of bait stretching maybe 1/3 mile along the north shore of the east end of the hickory creek arm, across from the Lake Park.
No sandies, though, not that I could catch on any of my go-to baits, so I tried dead-sticking which I've read about here but never tried before today, with a white superfluke on a 1/4oz jig. 50lb powerpro, no leader.
Took awhile to get the hang of it, then wow! Lots of hybrids are cruising the flats over there, 30 to 40 foot depths. Only two keepers (a nice channel cat and a 20" hybrid), and plenty 17+ hybrids released.
Had a safety check from the GW -- fire extinguisher was expired, but just barely -- they let it go. Thanks, TPWD!
Just like GoFishNow described yesterday -- wouldn't surprise me a bit if this pattern holds until the weather changes.
Here's one:

(The mop of white hair at the bottom is Scout, my fish inspector)
