Made it out to the lake a couple of hours before sunup. Caught 5 before dawn. After catching a couple more and losing all my line when a boat went over my line when I was trolling decided to try drop shotting. Here is first ever caught on a drop shot: Here is one I call oatmeal: Threw out the line and decided to kick back and eat an oatmeal cookie. Half way through the cookie fish on. The fish must have been eating oatmeal because it looks like whatever it was eating was just running right through it. All caught on lizards. Couldnt get close enough but this looks like a bald eagle.

I saw a couple of adult bald eagles at Fayette earlier in January. Once they were soaring over the dam and once perched in he tall trees on the east side of the lake. There were also a couple of young bald eagles which didn't have the white head and tail.
I fished Fayette on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. It took a while on Thursday to find the right color and location. Finally found them on a main lake point with watermelon finesse worms and c-rig. Friday, I used all my watermelon worms and went to watermelon red which worked even better. On Sunday the fish were scattered on the main lake points.
Only caught one large fish at 5.5 lbs but many 2 to 3 lbs.

I found out the hard way about running out of watermelon red. I now carry an extra bag or two just in case.

Thanks for the report. Are there any restrictions on motors on the lake? Looking to go there in a couple of weeks and was wondering if you can use the outboard or just the TM. Thanks

Thanks No restrictions on motors, just on bass, 14-24 slot. Just have to be careful of a couple of stump areas and rocks on some of the points. Good luck.
