To all of you humminbird side image graph owners out there, the newest software update has been released! Software version 5.210 is out with 4 new features for the graph! You can now turn on /off a contour feature that will allow u to see sideimage all the way to the center line or directly under the boat, you can also now add contour lines to the graph to give you an approximate distance left and right of the boat to where the structure is! The down image in the past has not had a zoom function and you can now zoom in on a freeze frame of structure in downscan mode! Lastly when in a split screen between nav, and side image, on the side image side of the screen, at the top there is a boat icon that points in the direction of the way point you are approaching! Looks like the update has some good new features. Gonna have to hit the water and play with the new features...Good Fishing to all!

It looks like it is there for the 798's but not yet for my 997. Should be anyday. I bet your update was for the 1197, right?

Actually, I just got off the phone with humminbird and the customer service rep told me that it is not going to be available for download for the 1197 or the 997 for a few more weeks! When I logged into my account the 5.210 version didnt show up, so I called and they told me that it is not going to be up for the the 1197 or the 997 for a few more weeks! Rats

Does Humminbird automatically send you an email or do you have to go to the website and download the update to the SD card? I know I had to register when I got the update to convert my 997 to a 998. Thanks.

You have to log into your account at humminbird.com and download the updates to a blank SD card and then follow the correct steps to download to your graph! Do not forget to restore factory default settings prior to inserting the SD card with the update!

Why in the world are they making 1197 owners wait 2-3 weeks??? This sux!!!

I am looking forward to the view that eliminates the
water column. Sould be great for searching flats and
humps and points for brushpiles and nasty ol' hybrids.

from what doug said they are releasing it in stages starting with the newest units and then working back from there guys with the 998,1198 have theirs already

A word of caution; Benny downloaded it over the weekend into his 787 (bow unit) and when he did, it disarmed the link between the 787 and the 997 (console unit). When he called Humminbird to ask why, the tech told him that they are having problems with it, and don't have the fix yet. I'm waiting as long as it takes for it to get right before I download. Don't want to mess up a good thing.
