Not sure the name of the park just off the 35 Graden Ridge exit, but this morning I entered the park, paid the $10.00 fee and drop it in the box. Got off the lake about 0450 and found the park police waiting behind my truck. Asked what was the problem and the officer said I was being ticket for no pay. I tried to explan to the officer that I did pay and maybe someone fished the ticket out. Anyway I have a court date for Feb. 18

If you paid by CC you are going to be fine. Pull your records.

That's the Tower Bay Marina. When you pay there, you are supposed to take part of the pay envelope and display it on your windshield as proof that you paid - did you do that??

Yes I placed the receipt in my windshield and show it to the officer and still got the ticket.

This is easy to get out of!! Keep the receipt and take it to the court date. Or call and be very persistant but polite to the number on the ticket. And explain what happened. If u really paid then You got nothing to worry about. Money thats all they care bout!! SUX, good luck.

I was there the other day and was told by someone who keeps his boat at that marina that the guy that is the ranger there now is a real a$$#@^e. Serious case of short man's complex. He likes to write tickets any way he can and give people a hard time. Threatened to write a ticket on a guy that had just driven his car to the trailers only area just long enough to pick up his fish after a trip.
Go to your court date - chances are that he won't even show up and the judge will be forced to dismiss it without you even saying a word.

I despise drop boxes, but I suppose they serve their purpose. I forgot to pay(yes I really did forget )at a Grapevine park last year. When I returned to my van there was a ticket on the windshield . When I called to see how much the ticket would be the park ranger said if I purchased a yearly pass they would wave the ticket. The yearly pass was $10 less than the ticket. I liked having the pass. No more finding a pen, filling out envelopes, worring about someone stealing the payment,or having correct change for the box. It also got me into all the GV operated parks for free.
