My Legend had a great ride. Loved it. It is the narrow part that I didn't like. I like a wide deck with room. I will be buying the boat used. Not looking at new boats.
Thanks,

I've owned both brands (2004 Nitro 882 and a 2009 Skeeter ZX250). I had absolutely no complaints with my Nitro at all. In my opinion they're good boats especially the new Z-Series. The biggest downfall to a Nitro is the resale value. They simply don't have any. I've been extremely happy with my Skeeter and any issue I've had hasn't been due to Skeeter. I just had to have my hydraulic steering seals replaced, but other than that it's been a good a boat. Now I did have an issue with the POS E-Z Loader trailer the Skeeter came with. Both axles were replaced last year. That took 3 weeks, but once again several boats come with that brand of trailer so it's not a "Skeeter" problem.

I would go buy a big wide Z-8 if I had a place to put it.

They all make good boats. I bet nobody will help pay for it anyway so who gives a hoot what they say! Good luck! Quote of the thread. Don't ask opinions get the boat that meets your needs from price to options, etc.

I drive the smallest POS fiberglass bass boat that Nitro ever made - An LX 640 and I've beat the livin' sh*t out of it on a weekly basis for eight years - I've had it out in 30 mph+ winds on T-Bend and Big Sam and have fished a steady tournament schedule out of it for four years now (It took 2 men and a boy to get me out of the boat after T-Bend cuz my a// wouldn't let go of the seat) - IMO Nitro makes a pretty tough and decent riding boat for what you pay for it and I've fished out of most all of at one time or another. My point is if I had it to do over again I'd get the biggest baddest boat I could and make sure it had every friggin thing I wanted already on it cuz I don't care what kind of boat you buy - once you got it you are probably gonna be stuck with it for a while..............

Ive got a Nitro 929 and it does have a dry and smoothe ride but its not very fast but Im not really into speed. It has the padded front deck and it seems to help out alot on back aches and pains. It is a little bigger boat than I like but its great on big water.

I also have a 2008 Nitro 929 CDX, most comfortable riding boat I have ever had, and has the padded front deck, tons of room on it. I don't know what Size motor you have Gary, but mine is pretty fast. Course your "not very fast" might be faster than my fast....lol

I had a post about buying a boat from a guide or pro and got good feed back and I appreciate that. In one of my post somewhere I mentioned a Nitro.
Now I know your going to say I'm crazy or rip me and I understand so bare with me for a second. The reason I am looking at a Nitro is because I have been in one and fished out of one. When I fish I need a butt seat and with the Nitro there was plenty of room to get around the butt seat to my rods go go the the back. The front deck is padded and I need that for my back. That extra padding does help me. When I had my Legend and used my butt seat and it sat to close to the trolling motor foot control and I didn't feel comtrotable getting around it.
Now for the ripping part. I have never been in a Skeeter which means I have never fished out of one. I have no idea how it rides or fishes. The reason I am thinking Nitro is the padded deck and butt seat room. So if someone can tell me how a skeeter rides and fishes I would be apprecated it. I do love the layout of the skeeter console. But is the front deck just as wide as the Nitro. Speed is not a big thing for me. Front deck room and getting around the butt seat with plenty of room and the ride is the most imporant thing to me. I apoligize(?) to you skeeter owner for not looking there to. But I will need a dual console boat. I need my wife and daughter to be out of the wind when riding with me. Partner, the day you buy a boat because of what everybody else says is the day you are going to be in for one of the biggest disappointments of your life. Buy what you want so that you can only blame yourself if it turns out to be less than you thought. I've owned 2 Skeeters, 2 Rangers, and now a BassCat, and I would not say anything negative about any of those three brands. I've rode in a bunch of different brands, including Champion, Charger, Cajun, Blazer, Nitro, Bass Tracker, and a whole host of others. I have my favorites, but I would never buy a boat based on what someone else says. What they like about a particular brand just may not be what I like. Best advice you can get right there!

i had a skeeter, now have a 2008 nitro 898. the nitro by far has a bigger deck and more storage, and the nitro takes rough water alot better. very happy with my nitro.
