Hey guys I will be in Granbury this week. Wondering where some good places would be to hit with the fly rod? Whats the water like below the dam? I had heard you can catch striper down there. Any suggestions would be great.

I have heard and seen pics of people with striper below the dam, but when I was last there, there was no water generation and all I saw were carp and caught a couple smaller smallies.

Apparently tailwater fisheries "turn on" when there is water generating. Having never been to one on a generation day I can't confirm this.

I have been there. I go pretty regularly. Stripers are near the dam, but the dam police patrol some. Don't go past the flashing yellow light. The wading is kinda tricky sometimes, alot of rocks with deep drop-offs.

The first pool down stream has spotted bass. Look at my blog. Those are so pictures from that pool this summer.

Always alot of buzzards around there.

Thanks. I use it for a fishing journal and to post pics to this site. Glad you enjoyed. I will try to keep up the good work.
