I don't think they are as good, you can get better rods for the money and if you want less money.

The Champion series is a sweet series for sure. I own a Savvy and a Champion 734 & 735s, The Champion has a little faster tip is really about all i can tell. Im in Paris Texas if you wanna try em both side by side we can go jerk some lips with em.I wouldn't be scared of either. What rod do you have and what one you looking for others may have some more input, thats the only ones i have both of.
Hope thats helps, Id be glad ot take you out and let you try them though ifin ya wanted
PS : Skeeter Ronnie has a bunch of the Savvys and Stan Browning as well

dont believe the naysayers.. the Savvy is still a high end rod. They look good, they fish good, they are well balanced, and they are VERY light! and this still utilize high end components on the rod. I have a 766FLIP that is so light, it would blow your mind! And it will swing 5-6 pound fish in the boat. I flip with 1- 1.5 ounce tungsten on it.

I have a Savvy and a few Champions. The main thing I see as a difference is the Savvy's don't have an exposed blank through reel seat. I thought that would make it less sensitive but really it's not as a big a factor as I thought it might be. But I'm sure that is a cost cutter in building them. Savvy's are a quality rod for sure.

yes. swimbaits, c- rig.. you must remember, this is a technique designed rod for flipping. so the first eye from the reel is missing for the person to pull the line for flipping a bait. You can have a rod builder add an eye if you wish. I have used it for swimbaits and that missing eye doesnt really affect anything to me. so truthfully, you could use it for other techniques. I just didnt want anyone to be suprised when they get a flipping rod and discover it has the first eye removed purposely for that technique.

when casey gets the video up from our day on the water. the big fish was caught on a Savvy 734c. Watch the line.... i had slack line and still felt the thump on the line. it thumped the line like a crappie/perch, but I still felt it with some slack in the line.

I have been fishing falcons for awhile but in the market for a new c-rig rod what model dobyns do u dobyns guys recommend ? I'd go with a 764C or 765C. The 764 is an amazingly versatile rod that will do so many things, including being a great c rig rod. If you frequently fish lakes that have a lot of nasty cover and big fish, then you may want to step up to the 765.
