I only use mono for my shakey head rig. I've tried fluoro but didn't care for the feel, mostly I think because of the line sinking. I generally use 14#, but switch to 10# in the spring.
Caught 5 at Fork today on shakey head. 2 dinks and 3 slot fish.
When faced with two evils....I just go fishing.

Went from 10# mono to 10# floro and now 20# Power Pro (6# diameter). Just spooled it up and haven't fished it yet. I've become a bigger braid fan in the last year. I totally expect much better feel and hook sets with the braid. I also won't break off as much in cover. I won't use a floro leader unless absolutely necessary.

I use braid with flouro leader on spinning rod, if they look at it you can feel it.

I rigged up a 14 lb Fireline and fished it last week. I had a 10 pound floro leader and I think I finally found a combo I like. No more kinky line and it had a very good feel.

Usually 8lb Seaguar Abraiz X, sometimes 10lb in the same line.
