I had a post about buying a boat from a guide or pro and got good feed back and I appreciate that. In one of my post somewhere I mentioned a Nitro.

Now I know your going to say I'm crazy or rip me and I understand so bare with me for a second. The reason I am looking at a Nitro is because I have been in one and fished out of one. When I fish I need a butt seat and with the Nitro there was plenty of room to get around the butt seat to my rods go go the the back. The front deck is padded and I need that for my back. That extra padding does help me. When I had my Legend and used my butt seat and it sat to close to the trolling motor foot control and I didn't feel comtrotable getting around it.

Now for the ripping part. I have never been in a Skeeter which means I have never fished out of one. I have no idea how it rides or fishes. The reason I am thinking Nitro is the padded deck and butt seat room. So if someone can tell me how a skeeter rides and fishes I would be apprecated it. I do love the layout of the skeeter console. But is the front deck just as wide as the Nitro. Speed is not a big thing for me. Front deck room and getting around the butt seat with plenty of room and the ride is the most imporant thing to me. I apoligize(?) to you skeeter owner for not looking there to. But I will need a dual console boat. I need my wife and daughter to be out of the wind when riding with me.

Thanks,

Now the trailers are having issues as well.

I'm gonna get ripped but IMO skeeters ride worse then any boat out there. Been in them all. Even new ones kill my back in rough water.

But honestly u need to ride or fish out of them all before YOU make ur descion and not what all of us think on here. Cause to me bullet, blazer, or triton is what I would own.

I think you should stay with legend and talk to the factory and have them add some padding for you. Stay with the best and as for the ride the seats in a Legend are hands down the most comfortable. The best built boat on the water

Partner, the day you buy a boat because of what everybody else says is the day you are going to be in for one of the biggest disappointments of your life. Buy what you want so that you can only blame yourself if it turns out to be less than you thought. I've owned 2 Skeeters, 2 Rangers, and now a BassCat, and I would not say anything negative about any of those three brands. I've rode in a bunch of different brands, including Champion, Charger, Cajun, Blazer, Nitro, Bass Tracker, and a whole host of others. I have my favorites, but I would never buy a boat based on what someone else says. What they like about a particular brand just may not be what I like.

The I-class has padded front decks. I don't know about the ZX models. get what YOU want tho. They all make good boats. I bet nobody will help pay for it anyway so who gives a hoot what they say! Good luck!

I run ranger and they have padded front decks lots of room up front and the ride is great. If you are looking at only skeeter or nitro go with the skeeter. They have better resale better trim and finish than nitro. The skeeter I class or fx is an awesome boat they have alot of features that nitro does not such as automatic locks and front deck pad. Go to the dealer and spend some time in both boats I think you will see the finish is better in the skeeter. Don't forget to look at the trailers. Skeeter has a nice quality trailer.

you can get padded front decks in just about anything more than likely. If you like Nitro's, go with a nitro. Youll be saving a lot of money anyways just in price. My skeeter is 10 yrs old...no stress cracks or trailer issues... My skeeter fishes great also... but get what YOU want!

Why? He didn't particularly care for the Legend layout so why wouldn't he be happy in something else? Legend is a great boat but they aren't for everyone. I've ran brands with similar hull and layout configurations and I don't like them. I hate narrow nosed boats and it sounds like the OP is the same way. I like the layout and room of a Nitro. Just wish the quality was on par with some other brands.

I know that no boat can ride worse in rough water than a Ranger z520-if he Skeeter is worse I would just jump over board
