I hope the Algae bloom doesn't get much worse..I had noticed all the gulls on the lake and went to see what was going on..1000's of dead shad and a few drum mixed in..

Just got back from the lake and was wondering what the deal was with all the dead fish. Didn't see any dead bass but like the other guy said there's 1,000's of dead shad, drum and catfish.

Did anyone have any luck fishing on Granbury today? I can't seem to put anything together on that lake lately. Any tips???

After hearing that a few people have blanked in recent days it has me wondering about this GA outbreak that is taking place from Tin Top to midlake..Hopefully someone with some experience in how to manage your time on the water during these conditions will chim in.. But in my little mind I would think that the fish will head to the deepest water possible?I'm a bank beater so that may be the reason I blanked yesterday in the mid lake area.

Hit Granbury today with my dad, we had 4 bites but managed to boat 3. All 3 came on different baits, but i can say that the bass were on boat docks at or close to main lake points with rocky/hard bottoms and 6-10ft. Two came on a jig, one on a texas rigged lizard and the last on a crawdad craknbait. The fish we caught were healthy, but I did see a small crappie floating near the 144 marina.

As far as the bass, the last time we had an outbreak, they stacked in areas where runoff hits the lake. Down where the powerplant used to discharge water to the lake didn't have any dead fish that we could see.

Runoff areas can be really good. Had some luck the very back of creeks where some fresh watr comes in. If we get any kind of a rain those fresh water ares will be best when we have the blooms. Certainly hope it doesn't get worse though.

Fishing isn't bad, and I have not seen and dead fish in the canal I live on (mid lake) and hope it stays that way...This lake has been coming back strong too since the last big kill from that dang golden alge!

Hate to disappoint you guys, but I was there yesterday and the birds are now working dying shad nearly all the way to Indian Harbor mad. We put in at Rough Creek and the bank was lined with dead shad, no fish that we saw, and the birds were diving all day long. This appears to be heading south quickly.
THIS SUCKS barf.
