Do you guys know that OFF mosquito repellent also keeps chiggers OFF ya? I spray down pretty solidly before getting into the chigger infested areas, and have little to no problem with em!

that stuff works for me!

give it a try, what have you got to lose other than a potentially fruitful fishing trip?

Rudy

Yes...I always spray when I arrive to ANY fishin' spot and it works for me. Keeps fleas, mosquitos and chiggers off. That's why they call it OFF. laugh rolfmao

I finally landed my big one yesterday about 8 p.m. on the north shore by the apartments. It easily went 4.5 lbs. I had caught a bunch in the 1-2 lb range on a char/white curly tail when that guy hit. Sure was fun and was proof of what I've been thinking all along- there are some big ones in there!

Let me tell you, these two gals are my kind of fishing partners. Joy thinks she can't fish very good, but she's only fooling herself, and her partner can hold her own too! I had a blast too, and can't wait to do it again. Joy, I told you that you would love it there. That sure was mighty nice of you to loan that lady your fishing pole so she could try and catch a fish! And she did! I saw more people out there tonight fishing than I have since I've been fishing there. We're definitely gonna have to hook up with Red and fish some spots close by. cheers

Question.... Do you think a fly rod with small popers or flys would work out there?
Are there decent bream as well as the bass?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, we definitely have to hook up with RED. Lucky was outnumbered by women! laugh That was my friend Judy with me, and the lady at the apartments that fished with us is Debbie. I probably would sleep on the banks if I lived there. thumb

Lots of bream. I fished with small plastics for bass, and caught my share of bream.

I'm not a fly man, but I don't see why they wouldn't work. I've had the bream nip at my line where it enters the water. Except for the fence at the north end, you'll have plenty of room for backcasts. Not being a fly fisherman, I'm not sure how close to the water you have to be. MOST places you are several feet above the water. From 3 to about 20 feet.

What part of "uphold the constitution" don't they understand?

I think flies and poppers would work great early in the morning or right before sundown at the cove by the construction site.

Anyone ever use a float tube in the place? Wonder if that would cause any trouble.

I don't think it would cause any trouble, but you sure need to watch out for snakes.
