Is any body running Merc fury on Yamaha HPDI? Just bought a champion 206 in November and finally got the jack plate set great water pressure and rooster tail even with motor, but still taching 6k and 68 mph GPS with throttle and trim left need one more pitch prop i think. I have heard that the fury is the best on the market just wondering if anyone else has a heard the same thing or has a opinion

Few questions.
1. What size motor?
2. What size plate?
3. What size prop?
4. What is the prop shaft height?

I have a Yammy and have ran the Fury, but have ran other props that run just as good if not better. Its all about set-up.

I put a 25 pitch fury on my 225 efi pushing a 202 champion! Shoots right outta the hole, no more looking at the sky waitin for the thing to plain! I yoused to get really crappy gas milage! Now its every 3 trips rather than every time! I yoused to hit the rev limiter but now I get off it because its just too damm fast! Cant go wrong with a fury in my eyes.....

Not all T props are the same. They make 25 and 27. I have seen plenty 25's on 250's. I would look at that closely as that will help out alot to know.

I would start first buy raising that plate up. I know different boats run different, but for example i run mine a 2" and it makes a difference.

I would raise it up a little at a time while watching your pressure. Once your pressure starts to drop, then i would stop and see what i run then. (I think Yamaha recommends to not run the water pressure lower than 15).

If you raise it up alot and still need more prop then i would consider looking into others. If you currently have a 25 then maybe consider the 26 Fury or 26 Tempest or the 27 Tempest. Are depending on the looks of your prop bring it to a good prop guy and have them B&B it and see what you get there.

Its all a work in progress until you find the right height of the motor with the right prop along with the good water pressure.

A side note to remember if you get to trying out props, my experience has seen that you have to run the Fury's lower than most others due to the diameter of the prop.

Sounds like a starting point. Try raising that motor up a bit and see what happens if you not happy then I would look for another prop. The T1 will be cheaper to find than the Fury.

put a 25 fury on it! allready put one on a zx250 with a 250, and a z21 ranger with a 250 awesome out of the hole and will out run the yamaha props. call Greg or Marty at Rothwell marine 870-777-6180, tell them what you got and they will hook you up with everything you need (prop and hub)
