like i said earlier , every wants to be junior game warden . i dont see nobody confronting other law breakers . like shoplifters , rapers and all the other crimes being committed . thats why we have law enforcement . one day you going to walk up and say something to the wrong guy and may end up getting hurt or worse. i dont agree with poaching but its not up to me to walk up to someone and say anything either .just call it in and hope he gets caught . by the way a freind of mine "josh" was warned about using a cast net at white rock last year , we we going to catfish at hubbard and he was getting shad for our trip . the lady was a dallas cop . hmmm?...w/rj

see.. I knew my speaking would cause some stir also.. obey the law of the land is what you are looking for aren't you mudcat and fishbrain? That's ok take your anger out on me that's fine.. I'm orginally from Arkansas where it still only cost $10.50 for a year's permit from the time you buy it. Of all the money we spend on law enforcement I'm sure you are glad that we spend so much to bust a guy catching some fish instead of stopping that illegal shipment of cocaine crossing the border under our noises or going through our neighborhoods and catching the child molestors and wife murderers or taking the time out to stop those drunk drivers we let out of the bar everynight @ 2:am. Fishing in Texas is being so regulated that it's only for sport and those who can $$$ afford it. It used to be $10 bucks a cane pole and a can of worms was all you needed but now it's to the point you have to be rich with a Ph D just so you can look at what you caught and throw it back!

Not angry at you at all, Tim. Just pointing out that, in my opinion, you seem to be trying to justify a practice that will cost us all $$$ in the end if left unrestricted. As for the cost of fishing, I'm truly tired of hearing the complaints about that. A license costs less than a round of golf or a tank of gas. You can still get a Zebco combo for about $30 that will last years, and live bait and crappie jigs are cheap. Buying a Shimano Calais and a G Loomis to go in a $40k Ranger is expensive, but it's also not necessary. Also, the job of Game Wardens is to enforce game laws, not to bust drug traffickers (which they occasionally do, in the day-to-day carrying out of their prescribed duties), so it's not a waste of resources. I guess the alternative is to dismantle TPWD, drop the stocking programs, fire/reassign the wardens, and let everyone harvest whatever, whenever they wish. It would save tons of money, and threads like this would be a thing of the past.
You seem like a good enough man, but I just disagree with the idea of someone's income level justifying ignoring a law. Is theft then okay? Other crimes might certainly help, too. Where you and I see things differently is that I see a law as a law--the courts decide on the severity and mete out punishment. You place more importance on the specific situation than I do, it seems.
Again, no hard feelings--just disagreeing.

Tim, I'm glad that we are able to express our opinions on this forum. Your opinion is valid, and the fact that you have the balls to express it, is respectable. If you haven't noticed, most everybody that posts here has an opinion about most everything. Some more than others. I appreciate an intelligent debate. Don't feel like you are doing anything wrong by expressing your opinion. It's nothing new. *YAWN Having said that, fishbrain's post just about sums up my opinion on this issue. God Bless...

[/b] I agree -w- fishbrain!!! I run a 309 bed facility here in Dallas that is a transitional facility /pre-release for Male and Female residents of TDCJ,that are soon to become residents of your community,ie ,your neighbor! Beleive me in that there is no rationalization in that income allows or affoards being outside the law. Case 1. well they were so depraved,he had no daddy/mommy,hes from this part of town..blah blah.. Case 2. Well they got so much money, they own this and that business, they got a team of good lawyers,..blah blah Neither case should be a cause to defeat the standards and boundaries set within society and be a burden on any community or any part of its resources.
