use shad colors and keep it moving fast...you dont want them to get a good look at it. smaller the better for getting strikes

knolan45,
The guys who posted above me are SPOT ON !!! Follow their advice and you will catch a bunch of 'em !
The only added suggestion I would make is to impart a llittle action on the spinnerbait during your retrieve....give it a little jerk or let it drop beside some cover now and then.

bright and fast. dont let em look at it. they have the choice to either eat it, or let it swim on by.

Color is a huge deal, if you have a bait with great colors the speed is second. I really like Bumper Stumper Illusion series in really clear water, also make really long cast, thats a key in fishing clear water

+1 on the Bumper Stumper Illusion series In clear water I generally throw it with double willows and will often drop down a size in blades. The blue shad, threadfin shad and, ghost. would be my 3 choices, w/1st being the ghost.

Here is a good one for Clear Water. The top one is part of a store order I am currently working on located in Alabama. Posted a picture of it and a guy up in Canada wanted me to build him 10 of them except with Red Eyes. First one has Double Willow 4.5 Blades on it. First blade is Gold and outside blade is Nickel. Guy up in Canada wanted the same size blades but both Nickel and is the way I would prefer it. With the double 4.5 blades on it, makes for a very versitile spinner bait. Can slow roll or burn it. Another thing to do is make sure to keep it high in the water column. Especially if it's bright and sunny outside.

Like said above and will add to help the bait move faster take the 1/2 oz. white and change the silver double willows to smaller size blades or remove the front blade. Also almost any spring time clear water situation you want to use a spinnerbait is a time to try a swimbait but slower than a spinnerbait. If the fish will hit the swimbait the slow speed is fine as the fish crush it like you wouldn't believe.

knolan, in clear water, in addition to reeling fast, its important to make long casts. If you use a little heavier bait with medium to small blades, you can cast it a mile. Its also a perfect style to burn. If you click the link below, you can actually go and design exactly what you need on our site. I normally burn clear water with a 3/4oz silver/lime 3.5 silver willow - 4silver willow.
